Version 2.0.1.4 of Universal USB Installer has been released. With this Windows program, the installation ISOs of a large number of Linux distributions can be placed on a USB stick. As a result, they no longer need to be burned to a CD or DVD; the installation can be performed from the self-starting USB stick. Support is available for a large number of distributions, from the best known to some very obscure ones. Part of the USB stick can also be used as persistent storage can be set up, in which changes and personal files can be saved, which is normally not possible with a live CD. The changelog since version 2.0.1.1 can be found below.

Changes in version 2.0.1.4:

  • Added an option to Create Multiboot USB. Experimental – not all ISO files work. For example Linux Mint and CentOS will not work with the Multiboot option.

Changes in version 2.0.1.3:

  • Update to use newer mke2fs for ext4 persistence file creation.

Changes in version 2.0.1.2:

  • Add back feature to refresh drives.
  • Detect if running from WINE.
