HMD will likely unveil the Nokia 8 smartphone on August 16

HMD will probably present the new high-end Nokia 8 smartphone on August 16 during an event in London. Presumably, the device will actually be released from that date.

According to The Verge, Nokia phone maker HMD has sent out invitations to parties to attend an event on August 16. The Nokia 8 will probably be presented then. Earlier, the German website WinFuture speculated that the device would be released on July 31.

A week ago, a photo of the Nokia 8 leaked. In that photo you can see that the device has a dual camera with Carl Zeiss lenses. The Finnish HMD has previously confirmed that Nokia smartphones will again have cameras equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses. The resolution would be 13 megapixels.

The device would get a Snapdragon 835 soc from Qualcomm, the most recent high-end soc from the American chip designer. Furthermore, the phone probably has a 5.3 “screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. In terms of memory, there will probably be variants with 4GB and 6GB, and there is flash storage with a capacity of 64GB in the device.

Users can store two SIM cards in the housing. The Nokia 8 probably runs on Android 7.1. The device is not only available with a blue housing; you can also choose a gold or silver color. A photo of the gold variant leaked Monday.

Until now, only cheaper models from the Finnish manufacturer have been released, although there have been rumors about a more expensive model for months. HMD previously confirmed that in addition to the current three phones, the Nokia 3, 5 and 6, it will release even more expensive and cheaper models this year. The Nokia 8 promises to be HMD’s first high-end phone.
