AMD shows die-shot of Navi 23 coming in upcoming Radeon RX card

AMD shows in slides about the Radeon Pro W6600 a die-shot of the Navi 23 GPU, which, according to rumors, will also appear in upcoming Radeon RX cards for gaming. The GPU has 32 compute units.

Some details about the GPU have become known from the images with associated information about the Radeon Pro W6600. AMD reports that the Radeon Pro W6600 has 28 computing units, but the image shows that Navi 23 has a total of 32. That is also the number that was mentioned in previous rumors about Navi 23. This would bring the number of stream processors to 2048.

A number of compute units are therefore disabled with the Radeon Pro W6600. AMD also does the same with the Radeon RX 6600M GPU for laptops, which is also based on the Navi 23 GPU and also has 28 active compute units. By not using the entire chip, AMD can improve yields .

AMD also mentions a die-size of 237 mm² and a transistor number of 11.06 billion. The company has the chip produced at 7nm at TSMC. In the Radeon Pro W6600 and RX 6600M, the GPU has a 128-bit wide memory interface and 8GB GDDR6 memory.

With upcoming Radeon RX graphics cards with Navi 23, the company would target gamers playing at 1080p in particular. Those cards could appear as RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT . The XT variant would use all 32 compute units, while the regular variant would use 28. It is not yet known when the video cards for gamers with the Navi 23 GPU will appear.

Radeon Pro W6600 and W6800

Simultaneously with the W6600 , AMD introduced the Radeon Pro W6800 with Navi 21 GPU, which offers 60 compute units for a total of 3840 streaming processors, just like the Radeon RX 6800. The Radeon Pro cards are intended for the professional market and offer ECC video memory support and certifications for certain graphics applications.
