Qualcomm has released two new beta versions of its Eudora email client for Mac OS X and Windows. These are versions 6.2.4.6 beta and 7.1.0.6 beta respectively. Eudora can be used in three ways. Firstly, it can be used for free with limited possibilities. Secondly, there is the possibility to get started for free, but with more functionality. In that case, some advertisements will be displayed. For fifty dollars, as a third and last option, the full arsenal of features can be used without being bothered by advertising. The lists of changes look like this:

Version 7.1.0.6 beta – Windows:

• Fixed sporadic crash when performing a high priority IMAP action.

Version 6.2.4.6 beta – Mac OS X:

• Using semicolon instead of colon after the scheme no longer confuses scamwatch
• Port numbers no longer befuddle scam watch.
• +Only invalidate current personalities password when changing save password setting
• Internal whitespace in hostname or link text was confusing scamwatch
• Putting mailbox names on some IMAP errors that didn’t have them
• Visit Web Site now goes to different server
