Oculus temporarily takes 35 percent off Rift price
Oculus has its VR glasses Rift with accompanying controllers and seven games on offer. During the summer, customers pay 449 instead of 708 euros. This makes the Rift only slightly more expensive than Sony’s PlayStation VR.
Oculus offers a bundle on its own site that includes the Rift, an Xbox One controller, two Oculus Touch controllers and seven games: Lucky’s Tale, Medium, Toybox, Quill, Dead and Buried, Dragon Front and Robo Recall. It is the first time that Oculus offers such a bundle for this price. With the offer, the Rift is more than 35 percent cheaper than usual. The offer lasts for six weeks.
The Facebook subsidiary has been offering the Rift for a little over a year now. When introduced, it cost around 700 euros without controllers. The Touch controllers only came out at the end of last year. Just before the introduction of the bundle, the price had already dropped to 708 euros for the Rift including controllers.
Update, 12:47: The article originally stated that Oculus is offering this bundle for the first time. That’s incorrect: the Rift with controllers and games has been on sale for a while for a higher price.
