Download PC Decrapifier 1.9.1

PC Decrapifier has been updated to version 1.9.1. This program, as the name implies, is intended to remove junk from a Windows PC. However, it is not intended for unnecessary files, such as Crap Cleaner for example, but for ‘junk’ that comes with new PCs. Large manufacturers such as Dell, HP and Acer supply a large number of programs with their desktops and notebooks, such as MusicMatch, CD/DVD burning programs, trial versions of antivirus programs or offers from ISPs, which not everyone is waiting for. With PC Decrapifier, this ‘advertisement’ of your choice can be removed quickly and easily. A full list of supported programs is at this page to find. Below are the release notes for this version:

Version 1.9.1 Released

A new version has just been posted with lots of great updates! This version focused on removing crap from the latest Toshiba Laptops. Some of the newly detected apps are: Norton 360, Microsoft Office 2007 Trial and Activation Assistant, Quickbooks Financial Center, Napster, Memeo AutoBackup and Picasa 2. There were some additional bug fixes for WildTangent Games (again!) and Symantec LiveUpdate.

One of the major new features includes another dialog box at the end of the process that lets you select any other programs you want to manually remove. This basically works like the control panel’s “Add/Remove” function, however with the PC Decrapifier, you can select as many apps as you want and it will just loop through them all. This will save you from having to keep going back to the control panel after each one completes.

You also may notice another removal item called “Remove Empty Program Folders.” If this option is selected, it runs at the end of the process to clear out any folders in the “Program Files” directory that are completely empty and left over from the uninstall process.
