Download Avast Antivirus 7.0.1399 Beta 2

Alwil Software has released the second beta version of Avast Antivirus 7.0. The program is available in the free Avast Free Antivirus and the paid Avast Pro Antivirus versions. In addition, there is Avast Internet Security, which includes a firewall and anti-spam as extras. In version 7.0 we see, among other things, a refreshed appearance and a new installer. In version 6.0, a browser plug-in called WebRep has been introduced that can indicate the reputation of a website, and in version 7 something similar is added for files. The second beta release fixes many of the reported issues from beta 1, but not all of them yet:

Thank you very much for all your feedback from avast! 7 beta1. I’m glad to announce an update of this beta (beta2 – build 7.0.1399). Although we’ve fixed many issues, there are still some remaining:

• ARA has problems with connection sometimes when server is on win7/Vista 32b
• Installers have issues when updating/upgrading
• Register in avast! Free doesn’t work due to problems with server side (should be fixed tomorrow)
• The help hasn’t been updated yet, it’s still from v6
• Some translations haven’t been updated yet, so you’ll see new items in English
