Download 7-Zip 4.64

The developers of 7-zip released a new version of their eponymous archiving program for the second time in a short time yesterday. 7-zip, which is made available under the gpl license, can handle a variety of compression formats, including zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb, and of course the self-developed 7z. Furthermore, the software is capable of opening iso files and Nsis installation packages. With version 4.63 it was no longer possible to extract zip files encrypted with aes encryption. In this release, that issue has been resolved:

• 7-Zip could not decrypt .ZIP archives encrypted with WinZip-AES method.
