Download DVD Profiler 3.5.1 build 1252

Just before the turn of the year, Invelos Software released version 3.5.1 build 1252 of the DVD catalog program DVD Profiler. This program was originally released by Intervocative Software, but creator Ken Cole started his own business and brought the program to Innovative Solutions. DVD Profiler distinguishes itself from similar programs in that it does not use online movie databases, such as Imdb, for example, but a database that is maintained by the users of this program themselves. The unregistered version has only a few restrictions until more than fifty titles are added to the database. After that, however, the functionality becomes a bit pinched off. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

New Features

• Added menu options Collection->Flagged->Check for Child Profiles and Online->Refresh->Check for Child Profiles
• New menu option View->Lock Layout prevents accidental changes to your layout

Enhancements

• Expanded media publisher field into three media companies
• The gallery is now more customizable – custom layout and color
• When child profiles are added automatically, the purchase date and purchase place are now copied from the parent profile
• The Change UPC dialog now allows assigning manual IDs (M1, M2, M3, etc). Entering “M” selects the next manual ID.
• Added a “Rating” conditional in reports which will match an exact rating by name
• Sped up opening of Add DVD window (and changes to the filters) by about 45%
• When resizing/resampling images for contribution, the program will try multiple quality settings to seek the highest quality within the size limits
• Increased max length of ratings details to 200 characters from 100
• The DVD->Paste dialog now has a Show Differences feature
• Added Blu-ray specific region graphics
• Report editor now supports single-column, columns-first, and rows-first order types

Bug Fixes

• Corrected the cause of an access violation when uploading to DVD Profiler Online
• When downloading child profiles, the sort title is now set correctly
• When downloading child profiles, the default currency type is now set correctly
• Movie pick no longer gives index out of range – due to errant custom genre
• Added custom genre support to Movie Pick
• The MPAA Rating conditional now functions, but the new Rating conditional is recommended for exact matches
• Resolved errors editing Custom List Views
• Profile loan status is now updated recursively when loaning/returning parent profiles
• Visiting DVD->Edit, Personal tab, then Discs tab no longer creates a disc “Bonus Features” when none exists
• Disc information entered while adding a profile that has discs is now saved correctly
• Resolved List index out of bounds error editing audio formats
• Scan Cover Images open dialog now remembers last file location in all cases
• Cover art panel in edit window now shown when adding manual profiles
• Profile comparison difference no longer indicated for regions if they don’t change

• Filtering by a Blu-ray region now filters to that media type only, DVD to DVD

• Bold/italic tags removed from overview display in movie pick
• Crew is now auto-locked correctly when using custom roles
