Facebook has two billion members as of Tuesday. That says founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a message on his own account. He refers to the number of monthly active users. Last month there were 1.94 billion.

Zuckerberg’s message is brief and gives no further details. He states that the social network now officially has two billion members. A Facebook press release states that it concerns monthly active users.

According to the report, more than 175 million people post a Love comment every day and more than 800 million “likes” are made. Furthermore, there are more than a billion people who visit a group on Facebook every month. Users of the social network can share a personalized video, which celebrates the milestone of two billion users.

Facebook publishes exact figures every quarter about the number of members who are active monthly and daily. The most recent data was released in early May, when the company spoke of 1.94 billion monthly active users and 1.28 billion members who return daily. So in about two months’ time, about 60 million monthly active users have been added.

TechChrunch posted an image online that pits the most recent figures of the largest social networks against each other. Facebook is the largest with its two billion users, followed by YouTube with 1.5 billion monthly active users.
