Today, Skype released the first beta release of version 3.5 of its VoIP program for Windows. This program allows free calls with other Skype users, generally with a surprisingly good quality. It is also possible, for a small compensation, to ‘call’ to fixed and mobile telephones. In addition to this version for Windows, versions for Linux, Mac OS X and the Pocket PC are also being developed, but these are technically somewhat behind the Windows version. Some of the new features in this release are redialling, forwarding and being able to send contacts in a chat session. The full changelog of this release shows the following changes:
