Specifications of the 2017 Google Pixel and Pixel XL have surfaced. The large version has a 5.99″ screen with a 1440p resolution and the smaller version has a 4.97″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

According to XDA sources, the larger phone, which is internally called ‘Taimen’, has narrower screen bezels than its predecessor. Furthermore, it runs on a Snapdragon 835-soc that, in contrast to the Snapdragon 821 of its predecessor, runs at full clock speed. The device is reportedly also equipped with 4GB of RAM and there will be at least a version with 128GB storage available.

The smaller device, called ‘Walleye’, according to the source, looks almost the same as the first Pixel, with comparable, relatively thick screen edges. Google does want to build in stereo speakers with this model, which would be at the expense of the 3.5mm audio connection. This device is also equipped with a Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of ram. Furthermore, the presence of an option with 64GB storage capacity has been leaked.

According to various rumors, at least the larger model of the new Pixel is made by LG, which also supplies the screen for that device. It is not clear whether the small variant is also made by LG. It is also not clear whether the larger device has a 3.5 mm audio connection. The absence of this connection on the smaller device is striking, since Google still mocked Apple in an advertisement for the first Pixel phones by placing extra emphasis on the 3.5 mm connection.
