Download Driver For AMD Catalyst 14.12 Omega

Spread the love

AMD has finally released new, stable Catalyst drivers after a long series of betas. The driver is only suitable for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, with a separate download for 32bit and 64bit environments. Support for Windows 8.0 has been discontinued since version 14.6 and AMD therefore recommends installing the free update to Windows 8.1. The latest drivers for Windows XP are from April, for Vista even from December 2013 (32bit & 64bit).

The drivers are suitable for Radeon models from the HD 5000 series. For older cards, such as the HD 2000, 3000 and 4000 series, which are now referred to as legacy, the latest drivers are version 13.1. AMD has announced the new drivers with a lot of drum roll and speaks of ‘Omega’ and ‘Special Edition’. In addition to the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, the drivers include Virtual Super Resolution, which makes it possible to render a game at a 4k resolution, but display it at a standard HD resolution for better image quality. The complete release notes can be found below.
