Mozilla releases ‘private browser’ Firefox Focus for Android
Mozilla has released Firefox Focus for Android. When using the browser, private browsing is always enabled and ad and analytics trackers are blocked, as are social trackers. Blocking trackers can be disabled in the Android version.
According to Mozilla, blocking trackers provides a faster browsing experience, in addition to the privacy benefits. However, some websites do not work well with this block, so there is also the option to allow trackers. For each type of tracker you can choose to block it or not.
It is not possible to open multiple tabs in Firefox Focus and taking screenshots is blocked by the app by default. By disabling the Stealth mode, it is possible to take screenshots.
A trash can icon is visible at all times while browsing. Clicking on it will clear browsing history and also delete saved passwords and cookies. The browser app is only 4MB in size. Mozilla released an iOS version of Firefox Focus in November last year.
