Crytek shows first gameplay footage of survival game Hunt: Showdown
Crytek showed images of its survival game Hunt: Showdown for the first time at E3. In the multiplayer game, which was presented during the game fair, players have to hunt demons in teams.
Crytek has chosen to show as few hud elements as possible, so that the atmosphere of the game comes out better, as is explained in the video. Before starting a round of play, players can choose equipment. For example in the form of weapons such as guns and crossbows. Then the game starts with five teams of two players, who can fight against each other and against demons as bounty hunters. According to Crytek, the game uses permadeath, which means that players lose all their items when they die. Later in the video you can see that teammates can bring each other back to life.
Crytek has not yet mentioned a release date or platforms for the game. Originally, the company announced a similar game in 2014 called Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age. However, it has never been released. The current game would be based on this earlier title. The game should have been Crytek USA’s first game. It was later announced that development of the game would be transferred to Crytek’s headquarters due to a reorganization. In December, the developer closed five more studios, in its own words to remain financially healthy.
