Asus unveils curved 35″ gaming monitor with HDR
Asus has introduced the ROG Swift PG35VQ, a 35″ monitor aimed at gamers. The display has a 200Hz panel with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels. The curved monitor has a LCD with a layer of quantum dots and supports HDR.
The monitor has a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and supports Nvidia G-sync to prevent tearing and stuttering of the image. The screen achieves a brightness of up to 1000cd/m² and the color range of the monitor corresponds to the dci-p3 color space, partly due to the layer of quantum dots. The monitor supports the HDR10 standard for HDR when showing videos or games that support HDR playback.
It is still unclear how much the monitor will cost and when exactly it will be released. Asus has not disclosed the response time of the panel and whether it is a tn, ips, or va panel. It is probably a tn or va panel, given the maximum refresh rate of 200Hz.
