Sumatra PDF is a lightweight open source program that allows viewing of various document formats, including pdf, mobi, chm, and DjVu. Installed, the program takes up 1.2MB, making it smaller than Foxit Reader. When a PDF document is printed, it is first converted internally to a bitmap image. This usually results in a large spooled file, which can cause quite a bit of delay on printers with low memory. Version 2.1 of Sumatra PDF was released on Thursday, and this includes support for epub ebooks, cbz comic books and some image formats, and the installation is now provided with a digital signature.

Changes in this release:

• Support for EPUB ebook format
• Added File/Rename menu item to rename currently viewed file (contributed by Vasily Fomin)
• Support multi-page TIFF files
• Support TGA images
• Support for some comic book (CBZ) metadata
• Support JPEG XR images (available on Windows Vista or later, for Windows XP the Windows Imaging Component has to be installed)
• The installer is now signed
