Download Caliber 0.8.66
Like almost every Friday, a new version of Caliber has been released today. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can copy e-books to and from readers and convert them to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. It can also convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format and books can be purchased from well-known web stores. The changelog of release 0.8.66 looks like this:
New Features
- E-book viewer: Support the display of mathematics in e-books. Supports both embedded TeX and MathML
The caliber ebook viewer can now display embedded mathematics (symbols, equations, fractions, matrices, etc.) in EPUB and HTML ebooks. For details, see: [External link] - Drivers for SONY PRS-T2, Freelander PD10 and Coolreader Tablet
- Wireless device connections: Use a streamed mode for improved networking performance leading to much less time spent sending metadata to/from the device. Also make it easier to specify a fixed port directly in the dialog used to start the connection.
- Get books: Add ebooksgratuitis.com
Bug Fixes
- PDF Output: Handle input epub documents with filenames starting with a dot. Also do not hang if there is an unhandled error.
- Get Books: Update B&N plugin to handle changes to the B&N website
- Content server: Fix regression that caused the port being advertised via BonJour to be incorrect if the user changed the port for the server.
