Pamela is an answering machine for Skype that comes from Pamela Systems. This software is able to record a message or send a text message to the caller if you don’t feel like or have the time to answer a Skype call. Pamela is available in two flavours, of which the Basic variant is free to use. Yesterday version 1.2 of the software was released. • Functionality: the recording and playback device can now be the same as the devices selected in Skype (important if you want to listen to voice messages through the devices set in Skype and not in Windows)
• Functionality: added options to automatically synchronize audio device settings with Skype
• Functionality: if LAME codec is installed, all sound recordings are now native MP3
• Functionality: samplingrate and vitrate of audio recordings can now be selected by the user
