Lexar launches first memory card with 1TB storage
Manufacturer Lexar was the first to release a memory card with a storage of 1TB. It is a Class 10 card with UHS-I for use in cameras, among other things, the manufacturer says. It costs 500 dollars.
The memory card is now available for purchase in the United States. It will also be released in Europe, but when and at what price is still unknown. The US price is $500, the manufacturer announced. It’s a card in Lexar’s existing line of 633x cards, which until now went up to 512GB. The 512GB version costs 300 euros in the Benelux. The specs are the same, except of course the capacity. For example, the card can write data at a maximum of 70MB/s and read at 95MB/s.
The 633x is the first memory card with 1TB on board. Western Digital already announced a memory card with a capacity of 1TB two years ago, but it has not been released until now. There are more memory cards with 512GB available.
