Doom Eternal composer seeks members for ‘heavy metal choir’
The composer of Doom Eternal, Mick Gordon, is looking for members for a ‘heavy metal choir’. Gordon has indicated that he is mainly looking for screamers. It is not yet clear whether the recordings of the choir will be used for the soundtrack of Doom Eternal.
Gordon reports in a video that anyone over the age of eighteen can sign up for the choir and that experience is not a requirement. Candidates can register before 1 February by sending a sample of their repertoire via a digital form. Those who are elected must come to Austin, Texas, at their own expense. The choir will start recording in March.
It is not yet known what the recordings will be used for. Bethesda Softworks has indicated that Doom Eternal will receive a “completely new soundtrack”, but it has not yet been confirmed whether the recordings are intended for that. Doom Eternal will be released later this year for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows. The game does not have a specific release date yet.
