Sony prepares for European PlayStation Direct store
Sony has plans to open a European version of its PlayStation Direct store. The company is looking for a leader in Europe for PlayStation Direct, with which the company delivers directly to consumers.
In the vacancy, Sony states that it wants to build on the successful US introduction of selling directly to consumers, with the arrival of the PlayStation Direct Europe store. The company is looking for an executive who will be responsible for the strategy, planning and objectives of the sales. VG24 was the first to write about the vacancy.
In the United States, Sony sells its consoles, accessories and games through its own online store at direct.playstation.com. The Japanese company started with this in September last year. It is not known how much Sony sales through its own store.
In the third quarter of this year, Sony sold 80.9 million PlayStation 4 games, of which 12.4 million games were made by its own studios. During the three-month period, Sony sold another 1.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles. The PlaySation 5 has now been released.
