Render shows Nokia 9 PureView with suspected fingerprint scanner behind screen
Telecom journalist Evan Blass has put online a render of what would be the Nokia 9 PureView, a smartphone with, according to the render, five cameras on the back. Images of this smartphone have already been released before.
Compared to the previous renders based on CAD drawings, the new image shows a screenshot with the image for a fingerprint scanner behind the screen. That was obvious, because there was no fingerprint scanner on the housing and HMD has so far not used infrared scanners for facial recognition.
The render of Blass, known on Twitter as @evleaks, also shows a reflective, presumably glass back with an Android One logo. The image appears to be from a promotional video. Blass has been publishing images of unannounced smartphones for years and has an impeccable track record.
HMD already hinted that it wants to present a Nokia 9 early next year. The Nokia 9 has been rumored for months. The number of rear cameras suggests that it could be a model that HMD made in collaboration with Light, who previously made the L16 camera with 16 lenses and said they would be working together. with smartphone makers.
Update, 13:27: MySmartPrice has put a video online from which the render seems to come. It talks about taking a photo with all cameras at once, in order to capture ten times as much detail and to be able to choose a different focus point in Google Photos afterwards. The video also contains some specs: a 5.99 “screen with ‘2k resolution’, 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The phone is said to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, unlike the 855 that will be available in many models in 2019. This article first stated that a notification LED would be visible above the screen, but the video shows that it is about the front camera.
