Download ExifTool 12.26
Phil Harvey has released version 12.26 of ExifTool. ExifTool is a free and cross-platform program that uses the metadata of a large number of files can be managed and edited. It works from the command line, but there are third-party solutions available that allow it to be used with a graphical user interface as well. New versions appear regularly, but most releases are made available under the beta flag. However, version 12.26 is a stable release. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:
Changes in version 12.26
- Added support for JPEG Stereo (JPS) images
- Added a new Sony LensType (thanks LibRaw)
- Added a new PentaxModelID (thanks LibRaw)
- Changed ExifTool namespace URI to use exiftool.org instead of exiftool.ca in the -X option output (exiftool.ca is still recognized when reading XML)
- Improved handling of large-array warnings in -htmldump output
- Changed handling of escaped characters in #[CSTR] lines of – @ argfile
- Patched security vulnerability in argument or -lang option
- Fixed problem which could cause a “Wide character” warning and generate a corrupted output file when writing some illegal values
