Vast and SpaceX aim to launch first commercial space station in 2025

Vast and SpaceX want to launch the Haven-1 space station in August 2025 at the earliest. If successful, it will likely become the first commercial space station. This station should be used primarily for scientific and philanthropic purposes.

The space station is planned to be launched into low Earth orbit by a Falcon-9 rocket in 2025, let me know in a press release. During a later Vast-1 mission, four astronauts are planned to be brought there in a Crew Dragon capsule, after which they will conduct research there for up to a month. If Haven-1 does indeed launch into space in 2025, then Vast and SpaceX are likely to be faster than other companies planning to launch a private space station. For example, Blue Origin does not plan to launch its Orbital Reef into space until the second half of the decade. Axiom Space currently plans to launch its space station in late 2025, so that company also appears to be in contention for the record.

Haven-1 is a relatively small space station, about 10 meters long and 4 meters wide. The space station is therefore not much larger than an ordinary SpaceX capsule.
