Rumor: Apple is giving widgets a prominent place in watchOS 10
Apple would give widgets a bigger place in its upcoming smartwatch operating system watchOS 10, claims financial news agency Bloomberg. In recent years, the focus has been mostly on apps.

For example, all watchfaces could integrate information from apps into widgets and, after pressing the ‘digital crown’, the user may no longer end up at a screen with apps, but at a screen with widgets. writes author Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his newsletter. Since this is a major change in the way the watch works, the change may be optional at first.
The widgets should highlight information from apps in more places in the operating system, much like the Siri watchface has been doing since watchOS 4 and the way widgets have been in iOS and iPadOS since version 14. Users could stack widgets just like on iPhones and iPads.
It would be the first major change to watchOS’s interface in years. The first versions had support for widgets in the form of Glances, but they have not been available in the system for years.
