QuakeCon returns this year as a physical event. Bethesda announces that. For the past three years, the event has been held virtually. QuakeCon 2023 will take place from August 10 to August 13.

This year’s event will be held at a convention center in Grapevine, Texas, writes Bethesda on the QuakeCon website. According to the company, the focus this year is on a so-called BYOC LAN party, for which attendees must bring their own PC.

Given the focus on that LAN party, QuakeCon will be a ticket-only event this year. Access will be limited to pre-registered attendees, according to Bethesda. There will be no exhibit space this year, nor will there be any general admission tickets, which allow people to enter without being assigned a specific seat for the lan party.

Other activities and meetups will also be held during QuakeCon 2023, according to Bethesda, although no concrete details have been shared yet. According to the organization, a program will also be broadcast live on Twitch for people who cannot attend. A full program for the event will be shared ‘soon’.
