Lucasfilm announces three Star Wars movies and shows trailer for Ahsoka TV series

Three new Star Wars movies are coming out. Lucasfilm hasn’t released any release dates or titles yet, but has shared some details about the films’ stories. In addition, a trailer has been published for the upcoming TV series called Star Wars: Ahsoka.

Lucasfilm has the arrival of the three new films announced as part of the Star Wars Celebration event held in London. The live-action films are directed by James Mangold, Dave Filoni and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

Mangold, known from Indiana Jones, among others, is making a Star Wars film that focuses on the rise of the Jedi. Filoni’s film is about the New Republic and in terms of story, this film ties in with the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. For the Obaid-Chinoy film, actress Daisy Ridley returns as Rey Skywalker to rebuild the Jedi Order after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.

Furthermore, Lucasfilm has announced that the TV series Ahsoka will be released on Disney + in August. There’s one too trailer of published. The character of Ahsoka was featured in the second season of The Mandalorian after first appearing in the animated Star Wars series. For Star Wars: Ahsoka, actress Rosario Dawson returns to play the role of Ahsoka.

Ahsoka won’t be the only new spin-off series in the Star Wars universe. The Acolyte will be released on Disney+ next year and is set around the end of the High Republic and the rise of the dark side, some 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I.
