G.Skill comes with 24GB DDR5 sticks at 8200MT/s and 48GB at 6800MT/s
G.Skill comes with new DDR5 memory kits with a speed of up to 8200MT/s and a capacity of 24GB and 48GB per stick, so a total of 48GB and 96GB. These kits have an Intel XMP 3.0 profile on board for easier overclocking.
The 48GB kit, consisting of two 24GB sticks, achieves the maximum speed of 8200 megatransfers per second with cl latencies of 40-52-52. That reports G.Skill in a press release. The 96GB kit with two 48GB sticks achieves speeds of up to 6800MT/s with cl latencies of 34-46-46.
It seems to be the first time that a working memory kit with a speed of 8200MT/s has come onto the market; in the Pricewatch the maximum findable is 8000MT/s, in a 16GB stick. But the 48GB stick with a speed of 6800MT/s is also well over the existing maximum for that capacity of 5600MT/s from the Pricewatch.
The Taiwanese G.Skill tested the memory on a platform consisting of an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard with an Intel Core i9-13900K CPU. AMD is reportedly working on Agesa version 1.0.0.7, which should add support for 24GB and 48GB modules. G.Skill speaks in his disclosure no release date or pricing yet. Presumably, both kits will be available in an RGB and non-RGB variant.
