Fighting game MultiVersus peaks at 144,000 concurrent players on Steam
The open beta of the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus became available on Tuesday. The Steam version peaked at 144,456 concurrent players. The game has been available for a limited number of players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles since July 19.
SteamDB shows that the peak was reached at 03:00 on Wednesday morning. According to the site, by 00:00 the fighting game had overtaken Apex Legends in terms of player count. The shooter then had hold 119,000 concurrent players, while MultiVersus had 142,000 players. Only Lost Ark (243,626), Dota 2 (273 968) and Counter Strike: Global Offensive (397,460) had more players at that time.
MultiVersus is a game where players can pit different Warner Bros characters against each other. It is possible to play with characters from the Scooby Doo franchise, Adventure Time, Looney Tunes and Game Of Thrones, among others. At the time of writing, the game features 17 characters, 9 maps, and 8 game modes. It is not yet known when the game will officially be released.
