LEGO and game publisher 2K announce LEGO 2K Drive, an open world racing game set in the LEGO universe. The aim of the game is to win the Sky Cup Trophy by completing racing games and mini-games. Players can build their own vehicles.

The racing game takes place in Bricklandia, a game world with different biomes, such as a desert region and a mountain landscape. In addition to races and mini-games, the game also features ‘challenges’, collectibles, ‘things to destroy’ and vehicles from Lego themes such as City, Creator and Speed Champions. While racing, players can also use power-ups.

In the game, users can choose existing vehicles and customize vehicles with over a thousand Lego pieces. They partly unlock those Lego pieces while playing the game. The publishers talk about color designs, stickers and flairs. LEGO 2K Drive supports local split-screen co-op and multiplayer.

Visual Concepts is the developer of the game; this studio has been responsible for the annual NBA and WWE games for many years. LEGO 2K Drive releases May 19 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The publishers say they want to expand the game with DLC after launch, such as extra vehicles and a new biome.
