Amazon expands game streaming service Luna to UK, Germany and Canada
Amazon has made its game streaming service Luna available in the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany. The service came out last year and was only available in the United States until now.
Amazon says that the service is available on “select devices,” including Amazon’s own Fire TV. The company does not mention any specific devices in its press release. In the US, Luna is also available on select Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire Tablets, iPhones and iPads through the Safari browser, and Android devices from Google, OnePlus and Samsung through the Chrome browser.
The cost of Luna differs depending on which game channels players subscribe to. For example, there is a Luna + channel, which costs 10 euros per month and gives access to games such as Alien Isolation, Control, Metro Exodus and the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes. There is also a Ubisoft + channel that includes games such as Rainbow Six Extraction, Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs and various Far Cry games. In addition, there is a rotation of various titles that are part of the Amazon Prime subscription. Prime subscribers can also link a Ubisoft Connect account to Luna. Interested parties can possibly purchase the Luna Controller for 70 euros.
With this release in the three countries mentioned, it took almost a year before Luna became available in countries other than the US. The service was released in the United States at the beginning of March last year, after an early access period of a year and a half. It is not known when the service will be released in the Benelux.
