Slack gets ChatGPT integration to summarize channels and threads
Office software Slack is getting a ChatGPT integration to summarize channels and threads and compose messages. That says owner Salesforce. The function is not immediately usable, but the company works with a waiting list.
ChatGPT will be an app for Slack, says Salesforce. In time, admins can add it to their Slack to be able to call the chatbot. ChatGPT allows users to summarize channels and threads so as not to read through them in their entirety. The app can also prepare an answer as a draft for users. In addition, the chatbot works as a search engine within Slack. Slack already has a search function and it is unknown how the latter function will compare to the search function already in Slack.
OpenAI has put a form online which allows admins to queue their own Slack for access. It is unclear under what conditions this happens. It is also unclear when the app will be publicly accessible.
