Stability AI releases Stable Diffusion plugin for Blender

Stability AI has released a plugin to use Stable Diffusion in Blender. Stability for Blender allows creating images in the 3D animation software using text descriptions.

The plugin makes it possible, among other things, to create images, textures and animations based on existing renders. This does not concern 3D material, but 2D images. Third-party plug-ins with similar functionalities already existed. To use Stability for Blender an api key and an internet connection is required. Powerful hardware would not be necessary.

Stable Diffusion is an AI image generator. At the end of last year, the developer removed the ability to generate pornographic images. In version 2.0, the text-to-image diffusion model was updated, among other things. A depth-to-image function was also added, allowing images to be generated based on the depth information from the previous image. Stability AI was previously sued by stock photo database Getty Images for allegedly misusing its images.
