Honor releases foldable smartphone Magic Vs in Europe for 1599 euros
Honor is bringing its Magic V smartphone previously announced in China to Europe. The foldable smartphone will have a suggested retail price of 1599 euros. This makes it the most expensive smartphone of the brand to date.
Honor announced the European release of the Magic Vs during its event at telecom fair MWC. It is the same phone that came out in China in November, but with newer software. It was known since its release in China that the phone would come to Europe.
With a price of 1599 euros, Honor puts the Magic V a few hundred euros below the suggested retail price of the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4. Because it has already dropped in price since its release in August last year, it is now available for less money than the Chinese competitor. The Magic Vs comes in a version with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
On the inside of the Honor Magic Vs is a foldable 7.9″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2272×1984 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The 6.45″ OLED screen on the outside has a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21 :9. The screen also has a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+.
The Honor Magic Vs also gets a 5000mAh battery that can be charged with 66W. The soc is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a soc from last year. The phone runs on Magic OS based on Android 13 when released in Europe.
