FromSoftware confirms it is working on dlc for Elden Ring
FromSoftware is working on downloadable content for Elden Ring. The only thing that is known for now is that the dlc will be called Shadow of the Erdtree. It is the first time that the developer confirms to work on dlc.
Developer FromSoftware confirms that the working on an expansion for Elden Ring. Details are unknown. The upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development. However, FromSoftware writes that the DLC simply takes place in The Lands Between, the world of the main game.
An accompanying image also shows a character riding Torrent, the game’s horned horse. The character drives through a field that appears to have clear tombstones on it, towards a tree. It’s not clear if that’s the Erdtree or the Haligtree, both of which are central to the game.
Elden Ring came out a year ago and has since become one of FromSoftware’s most popular games. Players have been wondering for quite some time whether there would be an expansion. Earlier there was already a new arena mode where players can fight pvp, but a narrative expansion has been missing so far. There were references to that in the game before, but FromSoftware has never officially confirmed that there would be DLC.
