Samsung releases One UI 5.1 for Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 smartphones
Samsung has released the update that makes the One UI 5.1 interface available for a number of Samsung Galaxy smartphone ranges. This includes the Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 phones. With this, certain features of the Galaxy S23 are also coming to these devices.
Among others on the GoT, the Galaxy S20 and S22 series are reporting the update to One UI 5.1 and that also applies to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. One UI 5.1 is the latest version of the interface that the market leader uses across Android 13 and appeared first with the recently released Galaxy S23 devices. The update will also be released for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Z Flip 3 and 4, reports Sammobile.
The update with which One UI 5.1 becomes available, makes a number of improvements and new features, such as easier adjustment of the color tone in selfies and faster selection of the Expert RAW option. Furthermore, it will be possible to open the last web page visited via the Samsung Internet browser on a Galaxy phone on another Galaxy device, provided that the user is logged in to the same Samsung account. It also becomes possible to change the folder for saving screenshots and recordings.
The update, which requires a download of almost 2GB, also brings the arrival of the latest security patches from February 1, 2023. Due to the previously changed security policy, it is not possible to downgrade to the old software after the update.
The S20 range, which came out three years ago, is also getting the current update; this series was eligible for at least three major OS updates and received Android 13 and One UI 5.0 a few months ago. For the Galaxy S22 series and the recently released S23 series, four OS upgrades and five years of security updates can be expected from the time of release.
