A subscription to use Twitter’s API for Ads will cost $100 per month. That has been announced by the company. The Premium subscription to access the API will expire. A free version will continue to exist with limitations.

The changes were supposed to take effect on Thursday, but that has been postponed to next Monday, says Twitter. The company is now disclosing some details. With a single authorized user token, it remains possible with the free version to send up to 1500 tweets per month, but the company does not mention other limitations of the free version. For example, how much it costs to retrieve tweets in batch is unclear.

The Premium subscription, which starts at $150 per month, will expire. Customers of this can switch to the Enterprise subscription, which has been around for companies for some time. No prices are publicly available online.

The company has yet to provide details about the exact pricing and terms of API access as of Monday. Previously, the company said there would be no form of free access to the API, but Twitter backtracked on that earlier this week.
