TP Vision announces Philips Fidelio L4 and T2-anc headphones
TP Vision has announced several new headphones, including successors to previously announced headphones and new headphones, such as sleep headphones. The main products, according to TP Vision, are the L4 and T2 headphones.
The Philips Fidelio L4 is a wireless over-ear headphone with 40mm drivers, just like the Fidelio L3. TP Vision says that the main difference of the Fidelio L4 is an improved battery, which now offers 50 hours of listening time. With the L3 this was still 35 hours, or 30 hours with anc on. The L4 can be used for 40 hours with active noise reduction. With 15 minutes of charging time, the headphones can be used for 5 hours.
Another improvement is the support of Bluetooth 5.3. The headphones also support the LC3 and LDAC codecs. TP Vision also says it has moved the vent port for the microphone to the back of the ear cup, making it less sensitive to wind noise. In addition, there is an extra built-in voice recording microphone to filter out background noise. For the ANC, the headphones have four microphones. The Fidelio L4 will be available from ‘this fall’ for an as yet unknown price. TP Vision is not yet sharing prices of the products.
The Fidelio T2 will also be available from this fall. These are in-ear earbuds that also support ANC and have 9.2mm drivers. This is smaller than the T1’s 10mm drivers. The T2 supports the same codecs and Bluetooth version as the L4 and supports Google Fast Pair.
The earbuds have three microphones per earbud, one per earbud for adaptive noise reduction. Two voice recording microphones, one per ear, should reduce wind noise ‘using bone conduction technology’. The battery life of the earphones is 9 hours with anc turned on, just like the T1 earphones. Despite the smaller case, it does offer more battery life, with 27 hours. This is 2 hours more than was the case with the T1. The earbuds are splash-proof with an IPX4 rating.
GO Sports
There will be two new models within the GO Sports line. The Philips A5508 TWS earbuds have 8mm drivers and anc, and offer 7 hours of playback and an additional 21 hours with the charging case. The A5608 is an open-ear headphone that works bone conduction. These headphones have an LED running light and offer six hours of playback time.
These GO Sports headphones support the LC3 codec and Bluetooth 5.3. In addition, the two models have two microphones and ipx5 sweat and water resistance certification. The two headphones will be available from this summer.
The latest new model to be announced by TP Vision is the Philips N7808 sleep headphones. TP Vision collaborated with sleep scientist Kokoon for this model. TP Vision says these headphones have “excellent noise isolation” that works with an “intelligent noise masking feature.” This feature uses “specially tuned, slow-introduced white noise to smooth out peaks in external noise that can disrupt sleep.” The sleep headphones can also automatically fade the audio volume when the user falls asleep.
TP Vision says the thin design means the N7808 can be worn all night. The headphones work with the Kokoon app. Here, users can view information about their sleeping behavior, which is monitored with an accelerometer and an optical heart rate monitor. The N7808 has a battery life of 10 hours and will be available from autumn.
