Asus introduces two new displays in ROG series
Asus has announced two new 27″ monitors: the PG279Q and the PG27AQ. Both monitors appear in Asus’ Republic of Gamers series and the manufacturer therefore focuses on use for games.
The PG27AQ is the high-end model with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, IPS panel with viewing angles of 178 degrees and 10bit color reproduction. The screen includes support for Nvidia’s G-sync technology that should prevent tearing and stuttering. The maximum brightness is 300cd/m2 and the gray-to-gray response time is 4ms. The monitor is equipped with HDMI and displayport 1.2 and the stand is adjustable in height.
The PG279Q displays a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and the brightness peaks at 350cd/m2. What is striking about this model is that the refresh rate when connected via display port is 165 Hz; with hdmi it’s just 60hz. This model also supports G-Sync and the response time is also 4ms.
Asus has placed a glowing ROG logo on the base. The manufacturer does not mention prices in its press release.
