Aya Neo wants to provide a gaming handheld with a separate AMD or Intel Arc GPU
Aya Neo presents the Next II. That is a Windows 11 gaming handheld that resembles the Steam Deck and, according to the manufacturer, will have a separate GPU. Aya Neo wants to use laptop GPUs from AMD and Intel for this. It is not yet known when the handheld will be released.
Aya Neo shows renders of the handheld, which resembles the Steam Deck. Like Valve’s console, the Next II has touchpads. The handheld console is also larger than previous Aya Neo models. That should make it possible to house a separate gpu, next to a soc with integrated gpu.
In a presentation, which VideoCardz publishes about, the Chinese manufacturer talks about an unspecified Radeon 6000M GPU or an Intel DG2. Due to the compact size and limited space for a battery, these are probably entry-level models of such GPUs. They can be slightly faster than integrated GPUs that Aya Neo has used in its handhelds so far.
Aya Neo wants to make an AMD variant with Ryzen 6000 processor and Radeon 6000 GPU and an Intel version with Alder Lake processor and DG2 GPU. The company has not yet announced concrete details about the components used. It is also unclear when the console will appear and what the price will be.
The Chinese manufacturer has announced numerous gaming handhelds in recent months. The line-up now consists of seven different models. All of these are not yet for sale, but the Aya Neo Air with OLED screen can now be pre-ordered via Indiegogo. Last year, the manufacturer already released some gaming handhelds.
