Ubisoft shares half an hour of Skull and Bones gameplay footage
Ubisoft shared about 30 minutes of gameplay footage from Skull and Bones in a dev live stream. Earlier this week, the publisher announced that the pirate game will be delayed again and will appear sometime in 2023 or 2024.
In the live stream, narrative director Joel Janisse explains that the player is “following a trail of something potentially interesting that could lead to treasure.” During the quest for fortunes, a player can count on battles with other ships. There are investigations to discover along the way, where the player learns more about the story and characters through messages in bottles and writings.
Skull and Bones was announced in 2017 and was initially set to release in Fall 2018. The game has been delayed several times. The pirate game will no longer release on March 9, 2023, but is expected sometime in the next fiscal year, which would mean after April of this year. A final date has not yet been announced. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
