Chinese developer shows martial art game being made in Unreal Engine 5

Lightspeed Studios presents Code: To Jin Yong. It is an open-world action game based on the martial art from the books of Chinese-Hong Kong writer Jin Yong. The studio, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, is making the game in Unreal Engine 5.

Code: To Jin Yong is an adaptation of author Jin Yong’s stories. He is known for his fictional stories in the Wuxia genre about Chinese warrior heroes. Like kung fu, wuxia is a genre in which martial arts are in the spotlight. Lightspeed Studios shows a first trailer that, according to the caption, contains “images from the R&D engine” but is “not representative of the final product.”

According to the creators, the game will feature iconic characters and environments known from books and TV series. Lightspeed Studios is a subsidiary of Tencent Games. The company has mainly made games for the Chinese market, but also contributed to the mobile version of Apex Legends. Code: To Jin Yong will be released worldwide, but when and on which platforms is not yet known.
