Roborock releases three S8 robot vacuum cleaners with mopping function and 6000Pa suction

Roborock releases a number of new robot vacuum cleaners in the S series. The Roborock S8, S8 Plus and S8 Pro Ultra have more suction power than the previous models. The Plus and Pro Ultra models can be integrated into an automatic waste system and can also mop.

The S8 and the Plus and Pro Ultra variants are successors to the S7 and the more expensive S7 MaxV variant that were announced in January last year. Roborock presented the robot vacuum cleaners at the CES fair in Las Vegas. There are now three variants the vacuum cleaners out, but all have improved suction power. It goes to 6000Pa. That is much more than the previous models; the standard S7 still sucked with a force of 2500Pa and the most expensive MaxV model with 5100Pa. In the new S8 series, even the cheapest model has the same suction power.

In the S8 and S8 Plus model, the double rubber rollers have been improved so that they can also vacuum larger objects. The Plus model can automatically empty itself into a docking station with 2.5 liters of storage. The S8 can’t. However, both models can mop with two cloths that move 3000 times per minute. The mop can also be rolled up 5mm from the floor for when the vacuum cleaner travels over rugs or carpets. The robots could clean a room up to a third faster because the robot takes better account of different objects lying on the floor.

The S8 Pro Ultra is the top model that, in addition to the functions of the S8 and S8 Plus, can also wash and dry the mop itself and refresh the water tank from the dock. The Pro Ultra can also automatically lift its brushes if there are certain parts on the floor that should not be vacuumed.

All three models also have a battery of 5200mAh and produce 67dB of sound. They can clean up to 300 square meters and have a maximum running time of 180 minutes. The robots also all have the same size: 350x353x96.5mm.

The vacuum cleaners will be released in Europe in March. The separate Roborock S8 costs 699 euros without a dock station. The S8 Plus costs 899 euros, but comes with a docking station. The same applies to the S8 Pro Ultra, which will cost 1499 euros.
