Google TV dongle owners report that multiple profiles are possible

Owners of the Google Chromecast with Google TV report that it is now possible to use multiple user profiles. Google had previously announced the arrival of this feature, but it only now seems to be actually available.

Among other 9to5Google reports about the option to now use multiple accounts in Google TV. After adding multiple accounts, it is possible to customize the interface with separate watchlists and recommendations based on the preferences of the respective user.

For the time being, this option only seems to be available to owners of the Google Chromecast with Google TV, the cast dongle with its own remote control that was released in 2020. The use of multiple profiles in Google TV should also become more widely available, for example for users with televisions that run on Google TV.

The arrival of personalized profiles to Google TV was announced last year, but its introduction was gradually postponed. Google announced the arrival of using multiple profiles officially on in May of this year.
