Atos is exploring split into two separate companies
The French tech company Atos is looking at the possibilities of splitting into two parts. One company would be involved in IT infrastructure management services, the other in big data and security services.
Atos itself speaks of an ambitious transformation plan for the split. The two companies that would emerge as a result would each have their own strategy and financial basis. Atos would like to transfer the existing activities of the Tech Foundations division to TFCo. The IT management division turned over 5.4 billion euros in 2021, but revenues are under pressure. Under the leadership of Nourdine Bihmane, deputy CEO from Tuesday, an independent company must be profitable again by 2026.
The other company that would emerge after the break-up is Spinco, which will continue the existing Evidian division. Atos activities for big data and IT security would be bundled under this heading. These growing activities accounted for 4.9 billion euros in turnover in 2021. Spinco’s director is planned to be Philippe Oliva, who, like Bihmane, has been appointed deputy CEO. The CEO has so far been Rodolphe Belmer, but he is leaving to make way for Bihmane and Oliva.
