Rumor: HMD postpones Nokia camera smartphone until next year

HMD would postpone the Nokia 9.3, its upcoming high-end smartphone focused on the camera, until next year. The Finnish manufacturer would have aimed for a release this year, but that no longer seems feasible.

The presentation must take place in the first six months, but which month exactly is unknown, tweeted Nokia Anew. The twitterer has proven more often in recent years that he has accurate information from HMD’s Nokia smartphones at an early stage. The phone would be called Nokia 9.3 Pureview and thus be the successor to the Nokia 9 Pureview from 2018.

Where the Nokia 9 still focused on improving photos by putting five of the same 12-megapixel sensors on the back in collaboration with Light, HMD would take a different approach this time. There are rumors that there will be a 108-megapixel sensor and 64-megapixel sensor on the back as the primary and telephoto camera, while there is also a camera with ultra-wide angle and macro camera. The phone would run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, would have 5G and have an OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. HMD has not yet confirmed the existence of the phone.
