Thermaltake and Asus make coolers suitable for Core i7

Thermaltake has announced a Core i7 version of its V1 cooler and Core i7 upgrade kits for a number of existing coolers. Asus will also support the Core i7 and introduced the Triton 81 cooler for this purpose.

The new Core i7 version of the Thermaltake V1 has the same specifications as the existing models: the four heat pipes have a thickness of six millimeters and the 120 mm fan can move a maximum of 86.5 cfm of air at a speed of 2000 rpm. If noise production needs to be reduced, the V1 cooler can be set to a speed of 1300rpm; the noise level would then remain at around 16 decibels. Thermaltake has new mounting hardware for the V1, V1 AX and Bigtype 120 VX cooler presented, which is specifically suited for the LGA1366 socket of the Core i7. Thermaltake also offers an LGA1366 mounting clip for its Liquid Cooling System. Core i7 confirmations for other Thermaltake coolers would follow later.

Asus also has a cooler for the Core i7 in its product range added. The Triton 81 is a tower cooler with a copper base and four copper heat pipes. A 90mm fan is attached to the aluminum cooling fins at both the front and the rear. The speed of these fans can be set between 800 and 2500rpm via the PWM connectors on the motherboard. The Triton 81 produces 18 decibels in the quietest setting. The cooler weighs 695 grams and, in addition to a Core i7 socket, can also be placed on motherboards with LGA775 sockets and most AMD sockets.
