ASRock introduces thin mini PCs with AMD Ryzen 4000U laptop processors
ASRock is releasing a line of mini PCs with AMD Ryzen laptop processors under the name Mars 4000U. The dimensions are 194x150x26 mm and the housing has a VESA mount. Models with 4, 6 and 8 cores will appear.
All versions of the Mars 4000U PCs are based on the FP6D4-P1 motherboard. The processor is soldered on and ASRock uses a self-designed heatsink and small fan. ASRock makes variants with the Ryzen 7 4800U and 4700U, Ryzen 5 4600U and 4500U and with the Ryzen 3 4300U. These are 15W processors that are often used in laptops.
There is room for two strips of DDR4-3200 memory of the SO-DIMM format and one M.2-2280 SSD fits in the housing. There is also room for a 2.5 “SD or HDD. The Mars 4000U PCs have seven USB connections, including a Type-C variant on the front. Displays can be connected via HDMI or D-SUB. Also ASRock provides the mini PCs with an SD card reader.
MSRPs for the Mars 4000U PCs have not been disclosed. It is also not clear where and when the small computers are for sale. Earlier this year ASRock already released slightly larger mini PCs with the same Ryzen processors. The Mars variants are a lot thinner.
