Download PDFCreator 1.9.4 Beta

Spread the love

A beta release has been released of what should eventually lead to PDFCreator version 2.0. This program is capable of creating PDF files from any Windows application. PDFCreator installs like a printer driver, with the difference that the output does not go to the printer, but to a PDF file. Since version 1.6.0, pdf architect included, which can be used to edit PDF documents. This module is not included in the download itself, but is retrieved during the installation, if desired. The release notes for this release are as follows:

PDFCreator 1.9.4 Beta released

It’s getting late, but we finally finished PDFCreator 1.9.4, maybe the last beta release on the way to PDFCreator 2.0.

For the insiders: We have now completed the transition from the Windows Forms programming model to Windows Presentation Foundation and MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel). Together with that, we have fixed a few smaller problems along the route.

We would be happy about everybody who is willing to test this new version. If you test it, please look closely at the two settings windows (application settings and profile settings), as they were the last two windows to convert and they are really huge code-wise.

We have also integrated the first translations (separate from German and English) and we would like to encourage everyone now to start working on the translations. If you are interested, please visit http://translate.pdfforge.org, register yourself a user account and send us a mail (or leave a comment in the forums) with your user name and language. We will then enable you on the translation site.
